I teach courses in the general area of Digital VLSI Design in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at San Diego State University. My research crosses the disciplinary boundaries of Computer Engineering and Neural Engineering. In particular, designing energy-efficient integrated circuits for brain-implantable chips.

I am the Director of the Computer Engineering Program, Director of the Online Master of Science Degree Program in Computer Engineering at World Campus, Director of the VLSI Design and Test Laboratory, and a Member of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Center for Neurotechnology.
